The Portico Sadie Massey Awards for Young Readers & Writers aged 7 – 18

Established in 2015, the Portico Sadie Massey Awards (PSM Awards) aims to encourage a life-long love of reading and writing in young people from all backgrounds.

The Awards are named after Glasgow-born Sadie Massey and her desire to spread a love of reading and writing.

• Reading Competition (Book Review): Review any book of your choice – Open to all schools and young people aged 7 – 18 years: Free to enter (Word count: Key Stage 3 and 4 - maximum 1000 words / Key Stage 5 – maximum 1,500 words)

• Writing Competition (Short Story): Write a short story set in the North of England – Open to all schools and young people aged 7 – 18 years: Free to enter (Word count: Key Stage 3 – 5 - maximum 1000 words)
