How is the course assessed?

Paper 1 - Russia 1855-1964. 40% of A Level.

Paper 2- The Making of Modern Britain 1951-2007. 40% of A Level.

NEA (Non Examined Assessment) - Tudor Rebellions 1485-1603. 20%. Undertaken from the end of Year 12/ beginning of Year 13.

Each paper is assessed by exam. Each exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes. Both are completed at the end of Year 13.

The NEA is a 4500-word essay. You will be mentored by a member of the History department. The piece will be marked and moderated within school and further moderated by AQA.
