Applying

At St John Bosco Arts College you can take one of three routes:

A Level

Select 3 or 4 A level subjects

Entry requirements:

5 Grade 9 - 4 GCSEs [previously 5 A*-C].

For your chosen A level subjects, we recommend a minimum of a B or a grade 6 at GCSE.

Assessment:

A levels are exam based qualifications. Most subjects are completed over 2 years with exams sat at the end of the course.

BTEC Level 3

Select up to 3 BTEC subjects. Some subject areas offer a double award equivalent to 2 qualifications.

Entry requirements:

5 A* - C or 5 grade 9 - 4 GCSE’s.

Assessment:

BTEC’s offer a vocational assessment with a combination of coursework and examination.

BTEC’s are an acceptable alternative to A levels to gain entry to university.

Mixed

Select a combination of A level and BTEC courses equating to 3 qualifications.

Entry requirements:

5 A* - C or 5 grade 9 - 4 GCSE’s.

For your chosen A level subjects you will require a minimum of a B or a grade 6 at GCSE.

Assessment:

A levels will be assessed through examination and BTEC qualifications offer a combination of coursework and examination.
