At St John Bosco Arts College we strive to create an Inclusive environment that recognises the needs of all young people, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, and provides a broad and fulfilling educational experience, which raises aspirations and expectations and prepares everyone for adulthood.
We seek to nurture the gifts, dreams and talents of all in the spirit of St John Bosco and in keeping with our mission statement that ‘together’ we inspire each other to flourish in faith, hope and love’. At St John Bosco, we provide an ambitious Catholic education that lays foundations for our students and our communities to flourish into the best version of themselves. We strive to create an inclusive environment that recognises the needs of all young people, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, and provides a broad and fulfilling educational experience, which raises aspirations and expectations and prepares everyone for adulthood. High quality, adaptive teaching is central to this. Teachers receive training on the four areas of SEND needs, and guidance on how to adapt their teaching, to best support students. When needed, further intensive intervention support is also put in place, to support students to build and foster key skills e.g. Social Communication, or Emotional Literacy.
