Article brought to you by the Student Editorial Team!

On Tuesday the 18th of March St John Bosco hosted the 20th anniversary of celebrating dance and performing arts in the school. Students performed to primary schools during the day and then at 6pm performed to parents/carers and the community.

The evening showcased work from students throughout all Key Stages and the dance styles ranged from Street Dance, Lyrical, Contemporary and Musical Theatre.

The performances showed how St John Bosco Arts College supports young girls in pursuing their dance and performance dreams. The performing arts team aim to help students achieve their ambitions by letting them to display their skills in performances such as, Moana Jr, Sister Act Jr and Bosco’s got talent. Letting the girls perform helps them boost their confidence and show their talents.

In the dance show there was various dances such as,

  • Men in black ( dance routine performed by the KS3 performance team)

  • Sister Act (a musical theatre piece performed by KS3 performance team)

  • I Wanna Be Yours (a solo contemporary dance performed by Sienna in Year 8)

  • Bounce (dance routine choreographed by Rosie in Year 9)

  • Moulin Rouge (dance performed by the KS3 performance team)

  • Rescue You (a contemporary dance duet performed by Aimee and Issy in Year 10)

  • Alive (a contemporary dance performed by year 7)

  • The Narcissist (a contemporary dance performed by Niamh, Paige and Alice)

  • Street Mix ( street dance performed by Elsie and Ella in year 9)

And many more!

In between dances and to give performers a chance for a quick costume change backstage, there were singers to keep the crowd entertained such as Taylor from Year 8, who sang ‘This Is The Life’, Lucy and Alex from Year 10, who performed a duet and also impressed us with their skills playing the piano and harmonica.

There was a total of 24 mesmerising acts! We hope everyone who attended the event had a fantastic time and enjoyed the talents our school has!
